"The Belly: A Photo is worth a thousand words..."
"...so shall must be the reason for my top 2 new years resolutions--
see blog post that lists my 5 new years resolutions, including the reference for the starting of this blog!"

This is the first post in my health n' fitness journal!

I have been getting a bit of a "belly" and would like to try to reduce that and to get better in shape by eating healthier, and working out. So, I would like to update you all on on fitness stats for last Friday, January 2, 2009:

My workout /Fitness @ Five Seasons in the western suburbs of chicago:

I began with a warm-up...
1) Treadmill - I ran/walk on the treadmill and got my heart-rate up to about 120 to 212; for about 10 min.

Then, I began my "main-stream" of exercise...
2) Swim - I swam 50 yards freestyle and 50 yards breaststroke; for a total of 200 yards, or 8 laps; all for 5 minutes.
and then I concluded my fitness with relaxing in the "hot-tub". After that, I went back into the locker-room, wrote down the stats that you read above and when in to the "steam-shower" and then the "regular-shower".

Well, that's about it. I'll like to continue with this journal--and try to start a blog on this topic.

Thank you, Fr. Roderick for motivating me (and others) in being a healthier Catholic!
Also, a thank you goes out to my sisters--for making sure that I don't eat that much junk (same thanks goes out to my parents)!

Earlier last week (I believe it was 12/30/08 or 12/31/08), I walked and walked and walked around the down town area of my "small town" and over to the next "western suburb - small town" -- which gave me time to catch up on a few SQPN podcasts-- such as (in order of listened): Healthy Catholic, Daily Breakfast w/ Fr. Roderick, Technopriest, and Saint Cast ... (whichever episodes that were on or around 12/30-31/08.

I think that I am on the right path... if any else in the SQPN community has any encouragement, I'd love to hear your input.
